Firm Scores Litigation Win in Obtaining Dismissal for Its Client

In connection with a lawsuit commenced on behalf of the Firm’s client in state court in Kansas, the defendant impleaded two of the client’s companies as third party defendants, alleging claims of unjust enrichment and tortious interference with contract.  On November 18, 2018, the Court granted the third party defendants’ motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction, finding that jurisdiction over them would offend due process because both companies are located and incorporated outside of Kansas and have not purposefully directed any activities at the forum state or availed themselves of the benefits of Kansas law.  The attorneys on the matter were Jeffrey H. Daichman and Gerard Schiano-Strain.
