Kane Kessler, a mid-sized New York City law firm representing public and private companies, funds and other institutional investors and business owners, has named Peter R. Herman and Jonathan A. Zalkin as partners in its corporate and securities group.
Herman and Zalkin were previously counsel at the firm.Herman advises on securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions. Companies and underwriters rely on his vast knowledge of offerings of debt/equity securities, private equity transactions and securities compliance. In his mergers and acquisitions practice, he represents buyers and sellers in domestic and cross-border matters.
Herman graduated from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was a member of the University of Michigan Law Review, and Cornell University.
Zalkin brings extensive experience to his representation of public and private companies in all areas of corporate and securities law. He handles mergers and acquisitions, public and private equity and debt offerings, and other capital markets transactions. Clients also turn to him for guidance on shareholder activism campaigns and proxy contests, NYSE/Nasdaq compliance issues and a broad range of corporate governance and general corporate matters.
Zalkin graduated from New York Law School and Syracuse University.
