Marc A. Zimmerman is counsel to the Firm and is an associate in the Firm’s Trusts, Estates and Taxation Practice Group. Marc is engaged in the practice of estate planning, estate administration, Surrogate’s Court practice and tax controversy.
Marc is experienced in implementing estate planning techniques, including drafting and implementing testamentary documents as well as inter-vivos trust agreements, drafting and implementing irrevocable insurance trusts, all aspects of estate and trust administration, and appears in the Surrogate’s Courts throughout the New York region to represent his client’s interests and promote the settlement of estate affairs. Marc also prepares and supervises the preparation of Federal and New York State Estate Tax Returns and Federal Gift Tax Returns.
In tax matters, Marc has experience with the Internal Revenue Service and the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, assisting individuals and businesses through audits, setting up tax payment plans, and compromising tax debts through the Offer In Compromise programs.
