Robert Kolodney

Robert Kolodney chairs the Firm’s Bankruptcy, Reorganization and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group and has been engaged in bankruptcy and debtors and creditors rights matters for more than forty years. He has represented corporate and individual debtors in Chapter 11 cases in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, Delaware and the Southern District of Texas in such areas as oil and gas exploration, manufacturing, mortgage lending and real estate, warehousing and distributing and commercial printing.

Mr. Kolodney’s practice has also included the representation of creditors and potential asset purchasers in Bankruptcy courts in New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Texas and Colorado.

Representative Engagements

  • Successfully confirmed a Chapter 11 Plan of Reorganization for an internationally known women’s shoe manufacturer in the Southern District of New York;
  • Successfully sold the assets of a manufacturer of feminine hygiene products and confirmed its Chapter 11 Plan of Reorganization in the Eastern District of New York;
  • Successfully confirmed a Chapter 11 Plan of Reorganization for a publicly traded company after selling the assets of its wholly owned subsidiary in the Eastern District of New York;
  • Represented a publicly traded company in successfully purchasing, through a section 363 sale, all the assets of a manufacturer of body armor in the Western District of Michigan.
