SENIOR COUNSEL

Stephen Steinbrecher is senior counsel to the firm and practices in the firm's labor, employment and employee benefits law practice group. Mr. Steinbrecher has extensive experience in labor and employment law exclusively representing employers. In addition, Mr. Steinbrecher has broad experience in the creation and representation of trade associations in several industries to which he serves as general counsel and labor counsel, industry adviser and consultant. For more than 35 years, he has counselled clients in all phases of labor relations, including representative elections and negotiations of the initial collective bargaining agreement, and providing counsel on interpretation of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement. He represents clients in employee discrimination and wrongful discharge cases, OSHA, ERISA and ADA compliance, wage/hour claims, and related issues. He continues to represent clients in arbitrations, State and Federal court proceedings and before Federal and State regulatory agencies.

Mr. Steinbrecher is a member of the American Bar Association, and its labor and general practice committee, and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He is a former Trustee of Clark University, a member of the Board of Directors of University Settlement Society of New York, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) which represents the interests of children who have been placed in foster care under the jurisdiction of the Family Court of New York City, and Just One Break, an organization which finds employment opportunities for the disabled.

Mr. Steinbrecher graduated from Clark University and Brooklyn Law School. He is admitted to practice in New York and before the Supreme Court of the United States, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
