ASSOCIATE
ALEXANDER SORIC is an associate in the firm’s Labor, Employment and Employee Benefits Law practice group. He has experience in representing management in private sector labor relations. Mr. Soric has represented management in class actions brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act, matters under the Davis-Bacon Act and in other wage-hour matters in federal and state courts and in federal and state agencies. Mr. Soric has represented management in employment discrimination matters at federal, state and city agencies and in federal and state courts. His experience also includes representation of management in unfair labor practice proceedings, and representation matter before the National Labor Relations Board, labor arbitrations and employment-related litigation, negotiating and drafting employment, non-compete and separation agreement, drafting personnel polices and counseling clients on federal, state and city labor and discrimination law compliance..
Mr. Soric has represented clients in a wide variety of industries, including telecommunications, hotels, restaurants, private clubs, hospitals, nursing homes, manufacturing concerns, contractors, as well as universities and not-for-profits. Prior to joining Kane Kessler, P.C., Mr. Soric was an associate in the New York City office of a national labor and employment management defense firm, representing clients in employment matters.
Mr. Soric received his B.A. degree from Stony Brook University in 1989. Mr. Soric attended Brooklyn Law School and received his J.D. degree in 2000. He was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Trial Advocacy. From 2001 to 2002, Mr. Soric served as a federal Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Raymond J. Dearie, Chief United States District Judge in the Eastern District of New York. Mr. Soric is admitted to the bars of the State of New York, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. Mr. Soric is a member of the Eastern District Committee on Litigation. Mr. Soric is also a member of the American Bar Association, Labor and Employment section, the New York State Bar Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the Nassau County Bar Association.
